LCD Televisions

LCD televisions are state of the art and are part of the next generation of televisions. It is a flat screen TV. LCD television displays contain hundreds of tiny dots of light and works by blocking some light and allowing other light.

Prices start at around £170 for a 14 inch flat screen TV. Mid range models start at around £1000 for a 32 inch screen. Top of the range models can be bought from £3000 and have a massive 50 inch screen. What model you purchase depends on your budget. Aim for the best you can afford.

In some cases LCD displays will have certain "white" pixels (pixels that remain permanently ON) or "black" pixels (pixels that remain permanently OFF). These white or black pixels may or may not be visible on the display, depending on the colours used on the screen. This is a typical LCD phenomenon and does not mean your display is defective. At this time it is impossible to produce displays that are completely free of these unchangeable white and black pixels.

Depending on the ambient temperature, LCD displays may sometimes look whitish at high temperatures or blackish at low temperatures. Furthermore, due to heat radiating from the LCD's back light, one part of the LCD display where the back light is installed may look more whitish than the rest of the screen. Please understand that this is normal and not a symptom of any defect or failure.
