Barbecues

Barbecues are the perfect summer tonic. Nothing means summer time in the UK than a barbecue in the back garden as the sun goes down, glass of wine or beer in hand. Nothing gets the pulse racing than the smell of cooking barbecue food wafting over from a neighbour's garden.

There has been a barbecue explosion in the UK in the last ten years. Everybody seems to have one and DIY stores have row after row of them all year round. What model you buy depends on your needs and budget. Cheap disposable charcoal barbecue models are small single use models. The surface area is limited, which will restrict the amount of cooking possible. They are quick and painless for a quick barbecue treat.

Charcoal barbecues are as close to the idea of a classic barbecue as possible. It is charcoal fueled and the cooking area changes depending on how much you spend. The used charcoal is binned after use and new charcoal added.

Gas barbecues are perhaps the most permanent and most expensive barbecues on the market. As the name suggests, they are fueled by gas rather than charcoal. Gas fired barbecues tend to give a more even cooking than charcoal. Once again, the more you pay the greater the cooking area will become. After use, it is only a matter of flicking off the gas switch. They are total convenience.
