Fridges

For decades, fridges have been at the centre of kitchen life. They have single-handedly revolutionised kitchen life. They have helped keep food fresher for longer. Without them milk go sours and meat goes off quicker.

There are scores of fridges on the market. We have standard fridges, fridge freezers, mini fridges etc. They come in a variety of designs and colours and help to take the sting out of the kitchen.

Standard fridges vary in size and price. They normally have several sheleves inside. Mini fridges are a scaled down fridge with often limited capacity and cooling ability. If you are planning on buying a fridge to fit into a certain corner of your kitchen or into a certain fixing then measure the gap first. Take that measurement down with you to the store to check if a potential unit will fit.

Fridge freezers add the flexibility of a freezer literally on top of a fridge. Usually, one unit comes on top of the other and each has a different door. Different fridge freezers come in different sizes. Freezer compartments allow food to be stored indefinitely. Check the size of the freezer compartment to see if it is big enough to suit your needs.

Fridges all do basically the same job and only differ on their size and additional features. Some fridges, for example, come with a water chilling compartment. Some fridge freezers now have a built-in instant ice-cube making machine.

Think about your budget and needs before buying. Don't buy an industrial sized fridge if you live on your own in a bungalow. Likewise, if you have a large household you will need a big enough fridge to store and keep fresh enough food.
